Provocations
A provocation is anything that provokes the imagination, inspires, creates beauty, intrigues, and spurs curiosity. Children use items in a provocation to make sense of the world around them. Using the child's perspective, the possibilities of ideas are endless. There are two types of provocations, child Interest Based Provocations – These provocations built upon and expanded student ideas, interests, and wonderings. Standards Based Provocations – These provocations are built upon and expanded state mandated objectives and standards. The materials and tasks set out to achieve the standards and goals that are mandated.
